GrafX2 is an unusual graphic program, whose creators decided to create a tool strongly inspired by programs known from Amiga such as Deluxe Paint and Brilliance. The result is a specialized tool that should be of interest to fans of the retro style, popular recently, for example, in indie (independent) games. After running the application you can feel as if we have moved in time - a small window, a small color palette, visible pixels and design straight from the application from Amiga or MS DOS.
No wonder, because GrafX2 specializes in creating graphics in 256 colors, although it allows for such modern conveniences as full mouse support. Despite its strong "retro feeling", the program has a surprising wealth of built-in tools and options that can be used not only in hobby projects, but also in the creation of graphics for simple, retro-inspired games. Practically every tool, such as line drawing, brush painting or quadrilateral painting, has several to several alternative work modes.
You can move between them using the left and right mouse buttons - some additional options will appear in the form of a new window, some of them will change the tool icon a little, which makes it worth paying attention to the current description. The results of our efforts can be saved as BMP, GIF, PNG or IFF files.
