Gpg4win is a set of advanced tools for data encryption. Enables protection against unauthorized access to files, folders and e-mail. Working with Gpg4win is based on 2 keys - private and public.
The first one is used to encrypt data, the second one should reach the recipients of the message, who can access it. The private key should be stored in a safe place and preferably when it is additionally secured with e.g. a password.
Such a solution is nothing new in the world of cryptography, but it allows you to limit access to our data to third parties, and also ensures that during delivery to the recipient their content will not be modified by anyone. The package includes such elements as GnuPG encryption tool, Cleopatra certificate manager, alternative GPA certificate manager, Claws Mail mail client, as well as two plugins allowing integration with Microsoft Outlook software (2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013 versions) and Windows Explorer. Gpg4win supports OpenPGP and S/MIME (X.509) standards, creating certificates using 2048-bit keys by default.
The standard encryption and signing algorithm is RSA. In addition, the package also allows you to generate and verify SHA1, SHA256 and MD5 checksums. The tool is not easy to use and its use is recommended only for users who have adequate knowledge of cryptography.
