One of the first effects of making available by Microsoft the SDK (Software Development Kit) package supporting the creation of applications for Facebook based on Silverlight and Windows Presentation Foundation. Fishbowl is an application written by Microsoft based on WPF, which uses the Facebook API providing access to service resources from the desktop of the system using a very rich user interface. Fishbowl uses many of the unique features of Windows 7 - notification through the taskbar, quick reference list and bookmarks preview.
The interface supports multi-touch devices and gestures that are particularly convenient for viewing photos. The application was developed in UXLabs@Microsoft and is a kind of demonstration of the new capabilities of the WPF platform and cooperates with Vista and Windows XP to a limited extent.
