RPG Fallout is a cult game, but technically obsolete. Many still have it in their collection, but the willingness to refresh memories passes at the moment when you have to fight against running the title under Windows. Not everyone wants to buy a project anew as long as they get a patched version, since they have a work in their collection anyway.
As usual, fans come to the aid, namely the big package Fallout Fixt. The full version of the package includes thousands of patches and minor changes that bring the hit from years ago up to today's standards. It also contains the most popular modifications of the original, making it better or more sensible in some cases.
That's why you need to install the Fixt project before starting your next adventure. Saved game states from the pure version will not be compatible with the improved version. The package contains elements allowing you to use higher screen resolutions.
Those responsible for Fallout Fixt were aware that not everyone would want to use everything they offer, so there are several options available during the installation. The first one, for purists, adds only patches created over the years. The next one adds a few additional changes that change the game, and the last one is the application of all available new content.
For those who are curious, there is also the option of choosing what to install in concrete terms. This is how you adapt the product to your needs. To have fun you will need the original Fallout files, which include a set of described corrections.
The developers of the Fixt package also do not recommend installing the game in the default directory on disk C due to problems with the control of the user account.
