CloneDVD is a program by Elaborate Bytes (known from the CloneCD application) that allows extraction, transcoding and saving video material on a single DVD-R/RW or DVD+R/RW media. It offers the possibility of compressing subtitles and audio streams, turning off or on the original menu, preview of selected titles, and the generated image is of very high quality (a copy indistinguishable from the original). CloneDVD is characterized by a very high speed of operation, as well as extremely simple operation, allowing even the inexperienced users to efficiently backup their DVD.

However, the weakness of the program is the impossibility of copying protected discs. CloneDVD works with most hardware and software players.
