The Doom95 project was to promote Microsoft's latest operating system, then Windows 95, as a great place to play. How else could the company prove it by not rewriting for him the cult Doom, thus independent from the old DOS. Straight from the initial window it was also possible to start playing online, choose the resolution for the game, level of difficulty and stage.

Again, it came to play the role of an unnamed space soldier, who was sent on a mission to Mars only to face the next hosts of demonic monsters on the spot. Reach the end of each carefully designed, multi-level stage, trying to survive, finding more powerful weapons, ammunition, supplies of life or the cards needed to open a closed door. The party is accompanied by unusual music.

It's worth noting that Doom95 supports WAD format map packages, not only the original Doom files, but also Doom 2 or fan levels, which have multiplied over the years. Starting them boils down to indicating a given file. It is also possible to get acquainted with individual stages of the game calmly by turning off the monsters, as well as the option of recording the course of the game.

More attention has also been paid to control settings (mouse, keyboard, joystick). The shareware version offers to play the whole first episode of the story, which consists of nine levels. It gives a big insight into the mechanics of the game.

The game can report a bug in the dplay.dll file under Windows, but it is delivered with the product. In this case, copy the dplay.dll file from the DIRECTX directory in the game directory to the main directory of the game, i.e. where its main .exe files are located.
