The game Descent was a small breakthrough for the more and more popular genre of 3D shooters. Unlike the competition, it allowed to move in any direction, exposing the sense of orientation in the field of many computers. When you had to move, shoot and still rotate at the same time in order to find enemy units, the dexterity of the fingers was trained quite well.

Here we play the role of a pilot of a well armed combat unit, which is supposed to clean the complex of mining stations on various planets from the mysterious virus of robots. All in all, the fun comes down to survival long enough to reach the reactor of the installation, and after blowing it up, the planned escape route. The level of difficulty is noteworthy.

The player is provided with a number of useful weapons, discovers many secret rooms with rockets or workers to save, gaining points at the same time. A curiosity is the additional stages, which are accessed by escaping from an alternative road, provided that it has, of course, been tracked down beforehand. Luckily, a handy map helps in the game, without which it would be very easy to get lost.

The shareware version offers to play the first seven levels with thirty and some weapons to test. It gives a big insight into the mechanics of the game. To have fun you will need to download and run the DOSBox program.
