Database Workbench Lite for Firebird is a free tool for managing Firebird databases. It is an excellent alternative to the commercial IBExpert application and allows you to visually design, create and modify databases. The program allows you to add and view tables, procedures, views, triggers and generators.

It also provides the option to export the structure of a database element (e.g. a table) to a DDL and/or data in selected tables, which can then be used in another database. In addition, the Database Workbench allows you to execute queries and scripts on the database.

The application supports the user in writing queries to the database by e.g. prompting table names. You can quickly switch between open database elements (e.g.

tables) via tabs. The program also allows you to perform administrative tasks on the server, such as creating database backups, disconnecting users from the database or changing the password of the database server user. The Lite version has a restriction that prevents the simultaneous use of more than three database servers.
