Cryptomator is an open and free data encryption tool designed to work with all online drives that use synchronization mechanisms with local directories. All encryption takes place on the customer's side so that the data does not fall into the hands of unauthorized persons. Data encryption uses AES with a 256-bit key.
The program creates special "crypts" (in any number), in which the directory structure, file names and their sizes are hidden, so that the attacker will not be able to deduce anything even from the metadata. Each of these "crypts" can have its own, individual access password. Operation of the program is very easy - after starting the program and clicking the + button, a new crypt is created, and then selects its location in the folder, which is used by our online drive.
Then you need to enter your password, type it again for certainty - and that's it. The program will automatically create a virtual resource, connected to the WebDAV protocol, to which you will have access through the normal file manager.
