Copernic Desktop Search is a program designed to quickly search for various types of files located on the computer's hard drive. The application handles very well the indexing of many file formats including DOC, PDF, HTML, XLS, PPS, TXT, M3U, PLS, MP3, WAV, GIF, JPG, BMP, AVI, WMV. Search results are displayed in the form of segregated categories visible in the main application window.

A big advantage of the program is the ability to integrate with the taskbar, which makes the search for files much faster and more efficient. Copernic Desktop Search also indexes emails of the most popular mail clients (Thunderbird, Eudora, Outlook), history and "Favorites" of such web browsers as Internet Explorer, Firefox and Netscape.
