CCCP is the latest version of a set of codecs to play many file formats including AVI/OGM/MP4/TS and the increasingly popular MKV (Matroska), which can include subtitles, DVD menus, multi-channel sound, covers, etc., outside the audio and video track. CCCP can play video files recorded in MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG3, MPEG4-ASP (XviD, DivX, 3ivx, lavc etc.), MPEG4-AVC/H.264, Theora, WMV9 and audio including MP3, AC3, DTS, AAC, Vorbis, FLAC, WavPack, TTA, LPCM, IMA ADPCM. A big advantage of this package is the support for all the most popular formats nowadays.

The authors have also placed in the installer an audio/video player - Media Player Classic, which can be optionally installed in the system.
