Banshee is a media player (audio and video) characterized by the use of few system resources while offering a large number of features. The program offers features such as media library management, Last.fm support and integration with Last.fm, mp3 file cover download, search and creation of playlists and much more. Banshee is also an excellent tool for syncing your media with your mobile devices (iPod, G1, etc.).

Banshee is a program distributed under the MIT/X11 license. It was written in C# (using the Mono platform) as part of the GNOME desktop. The Windows banshee release for the time being is unofficial and intended for testing only.

The program is unstable and should be used very carefully.
