Active@ Disk Image Lite is a free edition of an interesting tool for managing backups of data stored on hard drives of computers, laptops, netbooks, etc. The tool is also available on the Internet. Although the program has limited functionality in relation to commercial edition, it is very well suited for home applications when archiving data stored on hard drives.

With its help, it is possible to conveniently create a full backup of all files from a partition indicated by the user, as well as to restore them if necessary. The tool allows you to create so-called data backups on local disks and in selected network locations and burn them to CD/DVDs. Other equally useful features of Active@ Disk Image Lite include a built-in image explorer that allows you to conveniently browse through the contents of the indicated backup, as well as an integrated virtual drive emulator, where you can mount previously created backups and use them in Windows as standard disks.

There were also options of splitting the backup into smaller files (fixed size), password protection, and compression to reduce the output file with the image of the disk.
