WOT (short for Web of Trust) is an extension that increases computer security while surfing the Internet and is dedicated to Firefox browser. The plugin is an interesting addition to standard security software. It is based on a huge database of ratings and reputation of websites, which is created by a group of millions of users.

The WOT displays information about the reputation of a website as soon as it is opened in your browser. All alerts are available from the icon of this extension, which is displayed in the browser window. In addition to the ratings of other users, we can also give our ratings in two categories - Trust and Child Safety.

The extension can also display colourful icons with a reputation in search results, social networking sites or email messages. It protects the user against fraud, malicious software, dishonest online shops, unsafe links and many other threats. Importantly, when you go to a suspicious WOT website, it displays a warning window that allows you to continue your stay on the website or return to a safe place.
