WinHex is a hexadecimal, advanced disk editor for low-level analysis and modification of data stored on various media (hard disks, FD and Zip diskettes, CD/DVD disks, Smart Media cards, Compact Flash and others). The program can be used for both computer forensics and data recovery. Offers editing the data structure using templates (e.g.
for repairing a partition table / boot sector); combining and splitting files, analyzing and comparing files; search and swap functions;
secure removal of confidential files. Provides direct support for FAT and NTFS formats, as well as Ext2/3, ReiserFS, CDFS, UDF (depending on version). WinHex Specialist and Forensic versions also provide interpretation of RAID systems and dynamic drives, as well as the ability to clone the drive.
