Windows Installer libraries are used to install security patches and updates, as well as some applications, such as Microsoft, whose installation files have the MSI extension. Both patches and standalone applications with MSI extension are much smaller in comparison to EXE files because they do not contain their own installer - this is the role of Windows Installer. These libraries in version 4.5 are necessary for the installation of many programs and service updates.
