VPaint is an experimental 2D vector graphics and animation software based on the innovative Vector Animation Complex (VAC). The data structures used by the program also allow you to create very smooth animations without any effort and very quickly. The VAC is a data storage system developed by Inria and the University of British Columbia.

The data structure has been designed to model topology operations that change over time. Because time and space data are saved directly in one structure, editing graphics affects shape changes and changes over time to the same degree. The strength of VPaints here is its simplicity - any changes can be made in a drawing-like way, without searching for nodes and controlling fillings and shapes separately.

Changes to shapes can be made by distorting, which resembles sculpting in ZBrush. The size of the tool, the thickness of the dashes and the strength of its influence can be adjusted to current needs. At the bottom of the window there is a time axis and well known rectangles, representing the subsequent frames of the film.

You can draw on them manually or copy and paste objects into subsequent frames. It is also worth to use the possibility of pasting with automatic generation of intermediate frames (motion paste). To help you accurately mark movement, you can use the view of several adjacent frames at the same time in the work area.

A very interesting option is a three-dimensional view, in which you can clearly see the changes in shape over time.
