Universal USB Installer (UUI) is a free application designed to create bootable versions of Linux and Windows installations that can be run directly from a USB flash drive or external USB drive. In addition to supporting such systems as Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8, the program works with the most popular Linux distributions available on the market. These include the latest and older versions of Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Edubuntu, Ubuntu Studio, Ubuntu Server, Blackbuntu, Linux Mint, Debian Live/Netinst, Backtrack, Fedora, OpenSUSE Live, Puppy Linux, DouDouLinux, Qimo 4 Kids, Sugar on a Stick, Gentoo, Mandriva One 2011 and much more.
In addition to systems from the penguin family, UUI offers support for images of antivirus programs including AOSS (Malware Scanner), AVG Rescue CD, Avira Antivir Rescue Disk, Bitdefender Rescue CD, Comodo Rescue Disk, DrWeb LiveCD, F-Secure Rescue CD, G DATA Antivirus, Kaspersky Rescue Disk, Panda Safe CD, Trinity Rescue Kit. Universal USB Installer drives with Linux have one significant advantage over the common Live version of CDs/DVDs, which can be run directly from a disc in the drive. This includes the ability to create new files, install additional software, etc., which is not available in an environment running from a CD.
Linux USB drives can also be used to install this environment on netbooks, most of which are free of CD/DVD drives. To prepare a bootable version of ISO images, just follow three simple steps. Indicate the name of the system that you want to save to an external USB device.
Then select the downloaded ISO image and choose the media on which the system is to be installed. After completing the operation, we can run the system or installer directly from a USB stick or external USB drive.
