In addition to the on-demand scanner, its functionality also includes resident protection (monitoring of each program being run and the file being opened) and heuristic analysis technology to detect new, yet unknown threats. In addition, TrustPort Internet Security offers a set of tools to protect your personal computer against threats you may encounter while browsing the Internet, downloading files and using your mailbox. They include an intelligent firewall that monitors outgoing traffic coming into your computer and blocking any suspicious components, an email protection module (which integrates with Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Outlook Express and Windows Mail clients) to check for malware and spam, as well as a web protection feature that, in addition to scanning all files downloaded from the Internet, can identify and block phishing sites that steal sensitive user data.
