Terragen is a free application designed to create very realistic virtual sceneries. The program was used, among others, to produce landscapes in such films as Man of Steel, Elysium, Great Gatsby, Oblivion, Throne, Death Games, The Day after tomorrow and many others. With this tool you can easily prepare the landscape of a lake deposited in the mountains with the right lighting and atmosphere without any specialist knowledge.

In addition, Terragen allows you to set up the cameras at will to select the most suitable place to take a "picture". Finished project can be remaindered and saved as a graphic file (BMP, TIFF, OpenEXR, SGI RGB) or exported to video format using scripts. The application was used, among other things, to produce landscapes for films, games, etc.

The free version offers a limited rendering capability with a maximum resolution of 1280x900.
