StaxRip is a video converter, which is nothing more than a graphics overlay (GUI) for popular media tools. With its use we convert Blu-ray, DVD and DV films to the commonly used formats x264, XviD, DivX, AVI, MKV and MP4. The program is free and is based on proven video conversion/editing tools such as AviSynth, BeSweet, ffmpeg, MediaInfo, mkvtoolnix, VirtualDubMod, VSRip and several others.

Thanks to this solution, StaxRip has gained functionality that allows for efficient and effective conversion of video content to formats compatible with many different smartphones, tablets, portable media players and game consoles. The software has a set of predefined templates with configurations for many popular devices - iPod, iPhone, PS3 or Xbox 360. If your hardware is not on the list mentioned above, nothing stands in the way of creating your own profiles with settings.

Apart from the conversion itself, it is worth mentioning that StaxRip supports subtitle processing. There were also tools with the help of which we can trim/rescale the image to a selected size or to eliminate the disturbances occurring in it. The program supports the conversion of Blu-ray subtitles and allows for batch processing, while offering a considerable possibility to personalize individual conversion attributes.
