An interesting and free software for creating vector graphics based on the SVG format. Although the window philosophy and Sodipodi interface is more like GIMP, the available tools and capabilities are more like CorelDRAW. The program can cope quite well with graphics of large size so that it will perform its task as a tool to create large-format prints such as posters.
At the same time, it offers high speed, even when using raster files. The main drawbacks of the program are a very poor list of supported graphic formats (it does not support, among others, the most popular CDR), as well as unstable work (the project is still in the development phase). In order for Sodipodi to work properly, it is necessary to install GTK+ libraries, which are available for download in the PROGRAMS ->
Extras -> Libraries and other add-ons section. In case of installed GTK+ 2.x libraries, an error may occur during the launch of Sodipodi, when the file zlib-1.dll is missing.
The program was created on the basis of the terms of the GNU General Public License, according to which it is completely free software with the possibility of processing its source code. It may be freely distributed subject to simultaneous sharing of the source code. The source code of the program can be downloaded here.
