Scorched Earth was at its time the undisputed king of home computer meetings. The product, which allowed many tankers to struggle on one PC, attracted whole organized groups in front of monitor screens, adding the option of playing with artificial intelligence on one of the selected difficulty levels. Additionally, an economic theme has been woven into the strategic gameplay.
Take a tank shot and hit your opponent, seemingly a simple task, but not entirely. On randomly generated terrain, the system sets up armored units, sometimes adding a very strong wind. Take the direction of the salvo and the power to kill the enemy.
During the breaks between rounds, the number of which can be freely modified, in the shop players spend the funds collected in the fight against the enemy, arming themselves with even better missiles. Nothing is as pleasing as a successful atomic bomb, but the package of offensive options is much broader. Besides the availability of a variety of arsenals for shooting, removing soil or, on the contrary, burying up or a hostile tank, the game is characterized by a multitude of configuration options.
You can play with the settings of the allocated resources or physics of the world, including gravity and the mentioned wind. Graphic design also evokes pleasant memories, especially when a rival is hit by lightning.... The devastating environment also sleeps quite realistically, especially after powerful explosions.
Shareware version is practically a full release of the game, only with reminders that it is an unregistered copy and lack of non-essential elements. To have fun you will need to download and run the DOSBox program. We also recommend that you read the video tutorial on how to configure it correctly.
