Ricochet is a very simple instant messenger for text chatting, which was created with a strong emphasis on protecting the privacy of the user. Unlike other applications designed to communicate over the Internet, Ricochet is based on the Tor network and does not use the usual message servers. During its operation, the program creates a hidden service in the system, which is responsible for communication with other users.

The creators also resigned from all kinds of metadata, so there are nowhere to share data about our person or even the location. Users can search each other through unique addresses. Ricochet is currently under development, but developers are already releasing versions for Windows, Linux and Mac OS.
