Raptor: Call of the Shadows is an absolute classic of arcade computer shooters, in which the combat unit, armed to the teeth, flew up and eliminated waves of enemies. The production stood out not only with great graphic design and high quality entertainment, but also with many novelties, which it introduced to the extremely popular genre.
The story is divided into a set of episodes of several stages each. The player's task is to defeat subsequent levels while liquidating enemies, and at the end of the stronger boss. The airplane we drive can be improved with bonuses collected on the fly (like rockets).
It is also worthwhile to accumulate money, falling out of the shot down enemies, because the funds are spent in a shop on equipment. Armament is divided into permanently active and special purposes. Purchased additional weapons can be switched according to the situation on the screen.
A separate issue is the supply of bombs, which destroy everything around you, allowing you to get out of any oppression. The system of multilayer covers, with the option of buying or repairing a damaged safety barrier in the shop, also falls out of the question. The farther, the harder it is, the more useful it will finally be to buy a scanner showing the standard of living of bosses.
The shareware version offers to play the whole first episode of the story, which consists of several levels. It gives a big insight into the mechanics of the game.
