While Quake's continuation has moved away from the history of the series presented in the protoplate, introducing the winged cosmic race of Stroggs on stage, the next installment of the brand, Quake III Arena, even more broke with the tradition of FPS games created by id Software. The main thread has been eliminated at all, concentrating only on multiplayer fun on the web. To this day this title is willingly run for multiplayer options.
The new technology at the base of the product translated into a good graphic design, however, over the visual splendour of the creators put well tailored maps for fun in a few people. Fierce clashes usually take place in small areas, cleverly connected by corridors and with more powerful weapons, such as rocket launchers, armour and attack enhancement, deployed in designated areas. Knowledge of individual locations is one of the conditions for effective combat.
The other thing is to be able to control the speed of movement. Quake III Arena draws on the previous part of the series' gameplay mechanics, encouraging you to take advantage of the accelerations resulting from properly performed jumps sideways, as well as gliding high up after firing yourself from a rocket launcher straight under your feet. Dynamic fun was so popular all over the world that the title became the basis of many computer championships, becoming an unforgettable phenomenon.
The demo version offers four maps to check with bots, i.e. computer-controlled enemies. All weapons are available, which are normally available in full edition.
You can also choose the level of difficulty.
