QCad is a commercial computer-aided design software with a long tradition, the development of which was temporarily halted in 2009. In October 1999, Ribbonsoft began working on the CAM Expert program, which became the basis for QCada, which has been developed since May 2002. The program offers all the necessary tools for designing, from editing shapes, through measures and text tools to the ability to attract shapes, advanced view magnification functions and interesting functions for modifying existing objects.
Objects can be placed on layers and grouped. A novelty in this version of the program is support for Wacoma tablets and Magic Trackpad devices from Apple. In addition, the user has a library of 4800 parts (screws, rivets), which can be extended and viewed by himself from the built-in parts explorer.
The project can be viewed in isometric view. In addition, the program has a scripting interface compliant with ECMAScript and a dedicated IDE and integrated user manual. The program supports reading and writing DXF R12 and DXF 200x formats, export to SVG and PDF, as well as importing and exporting various raster formats (BMP, JPG, PNG and others).
