PS3 Media Server is a multiplatform DLNA server designed for transcoding and uploading multimedia files over a network to DLNA-enabled devices (TVs, radios, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360). DLNA (The Digital Living Network Alliance) is a communication standard used by manufacturers of electronic devices, offering the possibility of sharing multimedia resources (movies, music, photos) between different devices connected to the home network. For example, if you have a suitable DLNA device and WiFi network at home, you can connect your computer with additional cables from TV, audio/video view.

PS3 Media Server is designed primarily for PlayStation 3 users, but its functionality is not limited to a Sony product. The program offers the possibility of native sharing (streaming) of media supported by a given device, e.g. MP3, JPG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, AVI, MP4, TS, M2TS, MPEG on the PS3 console, as well as the function of transcoding (on-the-fly) of formats not supported by a given device, e.g.

MKV, FLV, OGM, OGGG, FLAC, MPC, APE. Another interesting option offered by the PS3 Media Server application is the ability to display subtitles for movies saved in TXT format, even if the device does not have such a function. In the settings tabs, the author also gave us the ability to browse the RAR, ZIP, CBR archives, show iTunes or iPhoto library, hide empty folders, cache media, and much more.

The program requires Java Runtime Enviroment, which can be downloaded in the PROGRAMS -> Add-ons -> Bills and other add-ons section.

The beginnings are always the most difficult, but over time I have mastered the operation of the program.

At first I had some problems with using the program, but then everything went well. I recommend it.
