ProtonVPN is a client of a free VPN service, thanks to which we can hide our location and bypass geoblocks. Behind ProtonVPN is the same Swiss group that develops ProtonMail, a secure postal service. To log in to ProtonVPN we need a Proton account, which can be created by clicking on the button in the welcome window.
The sidebar in the main window shows a list of all available locations. Simply click on one of the items and click "Connect" to get the connection. You can also check your location on the map window to the right.
The ProtonVPN client also allows you to create profiles so that you can save your configurations (country, server) and assign a name and color to it. In the settings of the program you will find only the basic possibilities: you can decide whether the program should be started with Windows, enable automatic connection and view the account settings.
After the first start, you can benefit from a 7-day trial period for your Plus account. After this time, the account goes to the free version, where you can use only three locations.
