Pinta is a simple program designed for raster graphics processing created by Jonathan Pobst, one of Novell's programmers. The application offers a variety of tools available in other applications such as a selection, shape, brush, pencil, text, eraser, clone, fill, color sampler, and more. Its main advantages are:
simplicity of use, layer handling, and the ability to apply such effects as color reversal, sepia theme creation or automatic color correction to the image. The Pinta program has been additionally equipped with the option of remembering the history of operations performed on the image in such a way that the user can return to any moment before editing.
