Hard Disk Manager Professional is, as the name suggests, a disk management program for Windows XP, Vista 7 and 8. The program allows for partitioning physical (ATA, SATA, eSATA, SCSI, USB 1.x/2.0/3.0, FireWire, RAID arrays) and virtual (using Connect VD technology) disks of any complexity and creating virtually all types of backups, from sector level backups to incremental and differential backups, with particular emphasis on content deduplication mechanisms. Backups can be saved to local partitions, external storage, optical media, network shares or a hidden, secured partition (Backup Capsule).
Restoring data can be done selectively. The whole is complemented by Total Defrag modules - a tool defragmenting NTFS, FAT and MFT partitions, and Disk Wiper - a module permanently erasing the remains of deleted files from the disk. It is worth noting the possibility of working with the latest devices - SSDs, USB 3.0 drives, drives over 2.2 TB, and drives other than 512 MB sector size.
The program is designed for Windows, but also supports filesystems known from other platforms: Ext2FS, Ext3FS, Ext4FS and HFS+. Partitions can be saved in MBR (Master Boot Record), GPT (GUID Partition Table), APM (Apple Partition Map), and as Microsoft dynamic discs (ordinary, combined, distributed, duplicated, RAID-5).
Hard Disk Manager can also migrate any type of system (P2V copying, P2V restoration, V2P, V2V, P2P, Windows 7 migration installed to .vhd, Windows operating system migration to SSD), and Apple Boot Camp has a disaster recovery mechanism in place.
