One Must Fall 2097, once a very popular robot fight, had quite a large group of fans. So as soon as the producer decided to make the old hit available for free, fans immediately got down to work, so that it could be easily played on new computers as well. This is how the OpenOMF project was born, i.e.
an improved version of the title that works without playing with DOS. The group of enthusiasts focuses on several key elements. First of all, it adds corrections (including support for new pads), but tries to stay as close to the original as possible.
Secondly, it wants to rekindle multiplayer battles, including online gameplay. Finally, he redesignes the tournament mode, which is the main campaign, in which he chooses a pilot, and then climbs the league career levels, investing in better robots. However, there is a lot of work here.
A well-coordinated team of programmers has ambitious plans for the future of OpenOMF, but their implementation requires time and reconciling the project with other responsibilities. However, free moments are not wasted, but rather lost in discovering the code of the original from the lining, so that the processing works even more efficiently. All in the name of saving from oblivion one of the most interesting battles of good old years.
To have fun, you need to download the installed One Must Fall 2097 to the appropriate OpenOMF directory. In the case of Windows it will be the resources folder. If the game works too fast, reduce the Speed setting in the options after pressing the Esc key during the game.
We suggest starting from the middle of the belt.
