Need for Speed: Underground 2 is one of those racing games that will remember nicely for all time. Before Electronic Arts was lost in the further development of the brand, the company gave a chance to develop a side series focusing on tuning, releasing a successful continuation of a great hit.
The project has been developed in almost every respect, with a sufficiently lively soundtrack, of course. The options of modifying the carts, which became an extension of the image of the digital alter ego of the player, the master of roads in the fictional city of Bayview, have been deepened. Further challenges are taken up by finding them on the map, which diversified the fossilized species.
In addition to standard rushing to the finish line, there are drift clashes, i.e. fans of sliding on the asphalt, rivalry for a short distance rush, plus league tournaments, consisting of stages of a few exciting races each. For the time being, the proposal from EA was graphically astonishing.
Cars modelled on the existing models of well-known brands, mainly Japanese, but not only, surprised with the level of detail. In addition, it was possible to beautify them by changing bumpers, hubcaps, adding neon lights, not to mention nitro acceleration as a standard. Too far-reaching drive by car designers also had an additional impact on vehicle performance.
The trial version is a small section of a full game. It offers several fun modes, including a single map race with a Nissan 350Z variant, a drifting competition and free city driving. It gives a big insight into the mechanics of the game.
