nama5 RAW processor is a program designed to correct and develop digital photos saved in raw format. Currently it is not possible to open files other than RAW files in it. The program is, first of all, light and simple, but it gives a wide range of possibilities for automation of work.
The user has at his disposal a view of the image viewer and editing view. The browser is fast, has useful filters, the ability to sort images by date or camera parameters, as well as pre-evaluation of photos with one, two or three stars. A great advantage of the browser is the presentation of basic metadata (sensitivity, aperture, focal length, exposure time) immediately on the list of thumbnails.
Here you can also rotate the photos, go to the file manager view or export immediately. It is worth noting that in nama5 you can define three modes of exporting photos and here you can select one of them. The demo version of the program allows you to export only one photo per run, but full version owners can queue tasks freely and even choose the processors that will be loaded during this operation.
All tools related to editing and exporting photos can be found in the Develop view. If the program detects that it was launched on a workstation equipped with two monitors, it will allow you to divide the interface so that the image is previewed on one and pallets with tools on the other (not available in the demo version). Nama5 allows you to perform basic color correction in a large range, as well as gives you the opportunity to show off when converting the image to black and white.
Finally, a single-colour filter can be applied to the image. The photographer also has a histogram and warning mechanisms to warn of overexposure or underexposure of certain areas. Each photo can be edited in 8 independent variants (a new variant is created with a plush above the preview of the edited photo), and modifications can be transferred between them using the copy-paste method.
The original file is of course unchanged. When framing a photo it is worth to use the possibility to set the vertical or horizon in a similar way as you can do in Adobe Lightroom by drawing a line. Particularly noteworthy is the magnifier, which allows you to see the action of mechanisms removing luminance noise, chromatic noise and hot pixels.
The possibilities of the program can be tested by downloading the demo version, which places a watermark on the preview and allows for one export during one run (the exported image has no watermark). The full version of the program costs 25 euros (payable by PayPal). For now, nama5 is only available for Windows, but version 2.0 will already be multi-platform.
In version 1.5 there should be support for colour management. The developers are also working on the implementation of RAW support for Samsung (SRW) and Fuji (RAF). You will find the supported hearing aid models on the program page.
