The latest version of the graphics overlay for one of the best console (command-line supported) media players available on the market - MPlayer. The program does not support all MPlayer capabilities (there are a lot of them) but it works well as a home media player, among other things because it is completely monolithic and contains all the necessary codecs (including MPEG-1, -2 and -4, DivX, H.264, MP3, Ogg Vorbis and AAC) for audio/video playback in one file. MPUI takes over the burdensome command line of the player giving the user a nice and easy to use user interface, which looks like Windows Media Player 6.

Stable version of the application is based on MPlayer version 1.0-pre8. - Multimedia player with clear and simple interface. - Play many different video and audio formats including MPEG-1, -2 and -4, DivX, H.264, MP3, Ogg Vorbis and AAC.

No additional codecs are needed for most files. (That's why MPlayer is an irreplaceable DirectShow beach - codecs are compiled into MPlayer.exe.) - MPUI and MPlayer together are only 3.5 MB in size. - The most important options (aspect ratio, deinterlacing, and postprocessing) can be configured without having to enter options in the command line.

(However, if you want or need one of the custom options you can still add it manually.) - Supports multi-channel audio and DVD subtitle tracks. - Combines MPlayer keyboard navigation with a mouse-controlled status bar. - Play files, Internet streams and discs ((S)VCDs or DVDs).

Drag&Drop. - Multilingual user interface. - Operation without the need to install MPUI/MPlayer.

Copy two .exe files to the directory from which MPUI is to be launched. - Use the special file autorun.inf, which allows you to autoplay DivX CD. This option takes up only 3.5 MB on a CD and does not require the installation of codecs on the computer where the movie will be played.
