JBuilder 2008 R2 is the latest version of a complete Java development environment based on Eclipse. It allows you to create and test simple as well as more complex and complex (corporate) Java EE server applications. It combines a set of multiple tools that help the programmer improve code quality and performance, as well as increasing the productivity of individual users and their entire teams.

The software is equipped with several useful tools, which are designed to take care of the quality and optimization of the generated code, as well as enable building highly scalable applications. JBuilder 2008 R2 has built-in functions for audit and metrics, allows to analyze complexity and consistency between objects, the degree of test coverage, which allows the programmer to assess the quality of the produced project, still at the stage of its implementation - coding. In order to streamline the work of programmers, the software is equipped with a set of visual wizards, allowing for easy creation of solutions in EJB technology, building applications based on Web Services, as well as designing graphical interfaces with the use of the Swing library.

There were also UML modelling tools to improve communication between developers. JBuilder 2008 R2 supports UML according to specifications 1.4 and 2.0. In addition, it offers a LiveSource mechanism that makes it easy to synchronize code and schemas when making changes to one of them.
