HitFilm Express is a program designed for non-linear video editing and the creation of animations and special effects for home productions. Beginners will appreciate the ease of use of the tool and a rich database of effects, the result of which can be seen immediately after dragging them on the clip placed on the time line. Like professional video creation tools, HitFilm Express allows you to edit multiple tracks simultaneously.

As in the paid version, most of the most popular video, audio and graphics formats can be used to work with the program. HitFilm supports such formats as WMV, MP4, AVI, MOV and MXF. In the case of FX background, the creators gave us more than 100 effects, which can be additionally mixed to create interesting and unique effects in their home productions.

Edition of 3D composition implemented in HitFilm Express resembles to a large extent solutions introduced, for example, in Adobe After Effects tool. The 3D virtual camera works realistically and the depth of field of view is generated based on the distance between the layers and the lens. HitFilm also offers the ability to create 3D shadows, realistic lights, activate Motion blur for 2D/3D layers and much more.

HitFilm Express largely resembles its more advanced Ultimate version, but offers some limitations that could appeal to more demanding users. First of all, in the Standard edition you will not be able to generate your own particle effects, advanced tools for color correction, import data from 3D camera tracking applications, support 4K resolution, generate advanced lights or use several 3D views when working with compositions. The program can be tested without logging in, but to enable video export, you need to provide a free license code and your data.
