Splitter working in the form of DirectShow filter which allows to open with the help of popular media players untypical containers with video materials in .MKV (Matroska), .MP4, .OGGG, .OGM and .AVI files. The package also contains the basic codecs used in these containers (MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, THEORA, VORBIS, FLAC, AC3, AAC or PCM), and in cooperation with the popular ffdshow package providing a wider set of codecs is a tandem, which is completely sufficient to play the vast majority of multimedia video files available on the network. In particular, it allows to play back the currently very popular .MKV container used for packaging video in HD resolutions (the size of which often exceeds the maximum size of the .AVI container).
