Godot Engine is a multi-platform environment for creating 2D and 3D games for platforms such as Windows, Linux, Mac OS, Android, iOS, HTML5 and many others. Godot is distributed under a free MIT license and uses an advanced OpenGL ES 3.0 engine. Since version 3.0, Godot has used the advanced Bullet physics engine to create games in 3D.

He was one of the first to add full support for open format 3D graphics, i.e. glTF 2.0. He has full support for his own GDScript language, modelled on Python, C#, C++ and VisualScript syntax.

It is possible to add support for more languages through the GDNative plug-in. It also has basic support for the ever-growing popularity of VR and AR technologies. Creators ensure that even a user who is not familiar with programming will be able to create his own game by graphically creating code using the built-in VisualScript.

The engine has many exemplary projects, which will allow you to get acquainted with its basics. The Polish version of the program and documentation makes it much easier to start learning while creating games. Thanks to a simple but powerful scene system, it can compete with programs such as Unity or Unreal Engine.

There is no denying that its strong point is, recently rewritten from scratch, the animation system. The user gets into his hands a powerful tool that allows, as the authors assure, to animate almost every element of the engine. Also intriguing is the new particle simulation system, calculated directly by the GPU.

Noteworthy is the constantly growing library of resources available directly from the editor.
