DX Installer is a simple and easy-to-install tool that is an alternative to the official DirectX installer of libraries mainly used in games. It supports both 32-bit and 64-bit editing of the library and, unlike the original, installs only missing files in Windows. The installation process may be slightly longer than Microsoft's official package, due to the strong compression used in DX Installer.

Importantly, the tool contains only the original components contained in the directx_Jun2010_redist.exe file. DX Installer supports Windows XP and later.
