Drive SnapShot is a small tool for backing up entire partitions. Its great advantage is the fact that it can work with disks that are currently in use or on which the operating system is installed. The tool, despite its small size, offers quite a lot of possibilities.

With its help, we will create backups in one file containing all the data from the indicated disk - including system settings, Windows registry, etc. Drive SnapShot solutions enable you to back up computers that need to work 24 hours a day, e.g. servers.

Importantly, the copies created in this way are consistent and fully reflect the contents of the disk on which the system is currently running. The program also works well in home applications. It allows you not only to back up partitions on which important data is stored, but also to create an image of the partition with the newly installed system.

The last scenario turns out to be useful in case of a crash and allows you to efficiently restore your computer to its original state without having to reinstall your operating system. Access to all disk images can optionally be password-protected. As in the case of backup, the process of restoring data from the backup is not very complicated.

The program can be operated from the command line. Importantly, Drive SnapShot gives you the ability to restore individual files contained in a backup of the entire partition. The program creates a virtual disk, which can be viewed from Windows Explorer or any file manager.

The tool supports FAT16, FAT32, NTFS and Linux EXT2/3/4/Reiser file systems.
