CoyIM is a privacy-focused instant messenger that supports XMPP protocol and Tor connectivity. This is a messenger recommended by the creators of Messenger Tor, which is no longer developed and can no longer be downloaded from manufacturers' servers. In the case of CoyIM, it was decided to implement, on the one hand, the functions necessary for comfortable use of the communicator, but on the other hand, to reduce them to a minimum in order to eliminate further weak points and elements potentially causing problems with privacy.
The application detects the presence of a secure connection to the Tor network and tries to use it, allows you to create an encrypted configuration file and allows you to import settings and private keys from other communicators, including Pidgin, Adium and Gajim. Sources of the programme are open. The code can be viewed on the GitHub.
