COMODO Internet Security is a free, very extensive security package. It protects your computer against viruses, trojans and other pests. Its firewall allows you to control traffic and defend against attacks.

This package also allows you to control other applications running on your computer. Although the application is not a typical Internet Security package (it does not have an anti-spam module and parental control), it allows for much more than competing Norton Internet Security or Kaspersky Internet Security programs. The biggest advantage of COMODO is the innovative approach to proactive protection, and the fact that it is available for free - it can be used without paying both at home and in the company.

The package consists of the following components: Basic pest control. The antivirus works in the background, monitors all running applications and modified files.

This module uses the COMODO cloud to increase detection. The latest version of the package contains a refreshed, faster engine for more frequent virus signature updates. Anti-virus allows you to create exclusions and move files to the quarantine.

The bidirectional firewall used in the COMODO packet allows you to control network traffic for specific protocols, networks and applications. In the program you will find a port hiding wizard, which has done the basic configuration for us. The firewall automatically detects new network zones, allows you to create global rules and programs, scans websites and protects you from fake websites.

It is a very powerful proactive protection component that consists of several modules and uses hardware virtualization (Intel VT-x. The first one is the Intrusion Detection System (HIPS), which monitors running applications and informs the user about their actions. It allows you to block e.g.

keyloggers, unauthorized operations in the registry, or attempts to modify system settings. The second component is a sandbox that allows you to run suspicious programs in an isolated, safe environment. The last component is Viruscope:

a special module analyzing application behavior. It performs the history of operations performed by them and enables their reversal, e.g. in case of malicious activity.

COMODO Internet Security also includes the ability to create a rescue disk on a CD or a USB flash drive to scan an infected computer. The application allows you to run the so-called Virtual Desktop: a special mode designed, for example, for Internet banking, where the browser and plug-ins are protected against access from the outside.

This package also allows you to run the COMODO KillSwitch module designed for accurate monitoring of processes and operating system activity. By default, the program installs all components of the package: antivirus, firewall, but also COMODO GeekBudy technical support module and Chromodo web browser.

In order to install only selected components, the user must manually adjust the installation.
