Cain and Abel is an advanced program designed to recover various types of passwords under the Windows platform. The application allows for relatively easy recovery of various types of passwords thanks to such methods as network eavesdropping, cracking encrypted passwords using dictionaries, VoIP call logging, decoding mixed passwords, recovering wireless network keys, detecting hidden passwords or analyzing protocols. The main goal of the Cain and Abel application is to help retrieve various types of passwords by exploiting certain aspects and weaknesses related to presentation in protocol standards, authentication methods and hiding mechanisms.
The latest version has improved speed and added several new features including APR (Arp Poison Routing), SSH-1 and HTTPS support.
