Bleep is a privacy-oriented messaging application. The program was developed by BitTorrent developers and uses peer-to-peer communication to offer secrecy. In addition to the exchange of text messages, the communicator also allows you to make phone calls.
All of them are protected against eavesdropping. User protection is based on data encryption and direct communication between users. After installation, the application requires the creation of a new account, or pairing with an existing account.
A new account requires an email address or phone number. To pair with an existing account it is necessary to open the communicator on another device and scan the appropriate QR code. Your device is automatically connected to your account and registered in a secure network.
The main window displays a list of contacts and provides access to their search engine. The right part is devoted to the content of the message. The application allows you to view call history and add new friends.
We can do this using their email address, phone number, or public key (in the form of a QR code or text). The application allows you to send text messages, it is also possible to make phone calls to network users. Messenger settings allow you to change your nickname, view account information, and import contacts from your mailbox from your Gmail account.
In the settings you will also find the function of adding a new device, and cleaning the message history. The program is available for free. The manufacturer provides a version for Windows, Mac OS X, and Android.
