AdFender is a small application that is used to protect the privacy of users. Through the use of a local proxy server, the program allows you to block banners, flash ads, advertising media, as well as tracking elements. The operation of the application is based on the use of a local proxy server:

Internet data goes through the AdFender engine, where it is analyzed and, if necessary, modified. The application can thus detect resources from advertisers' hosts and companies that track users in order to create their web profiles. AdFender blocks such requests, thus protecting the user.

The program filters the traffic not only of web browsers, but also of instant messengers and clients using the P2P infrastructure. In the AdFender settings you will find predefined lists of elements to block. There are e.g.

very popular EasyList with regional varieties and EasyPrivacy. The application also protects against malicious software, because by default it blocks hosts considered to be used for virus distribution. It is also possible to remove cookies and history from Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox browsers.

AdFender is available for free, it can handle traffic filtering from various browsers, both in 32-bit and 64-bit versions. If necessary, you can create your own rules to exclude filtering on specific sites.
